Frequently asked questions

Tailoring your job applications with AI

Welcome to our FAQ on using AI to improve job applications. You will find clear answers, without overpromising, on how Role2Match works: how it reads a job offer, tailors your CV and cover letter, and how it can save you time in your job search.

    Understanding Role2Match and AI

What does it mean to optimise job applications with AI, and why does it help?

It means using generative AI to adapt your CV and cover letter to each job offer, to save time and send a better targeted application. Many companies receive a large number of applications and use screening tools, so a generic application is less likely to stand out. Role2Match reads the offer, identifies the expected skills and terms, and helps you highlight the relevant parts of your profile. The goal is not to guarantee you a job, but to save you time and make each application more relevant to a given offer.

How does Role2Match analyse a job offer?

Role2Match uses generative AI to read a job offer and extract what matters: job title, required skills, responsibilities, expected qualities and company context. It then matches those requirements against your profile and documents, and suggests how to adapt your CV and cover letter. This is what makes the suggestions personalised rather than generic.

How is Role2Match different from a simple CV builder?

A classic CV builder usually puts your information into a predefined template. Role2Match analyses both your profile and the target offer with generative AI, then suggests rewording and emphasis adapted to that specific role, using the vocabulary and skills the offer highlights. You always keep control of the final result.

Does Role2Match help with applicant tracking systems (ATS)?

Partly, and without magic promises. Many recruiters use screening tools (ATS) that rely on the keywords and skills in your CV. Because Role2Match tailors your application to the offer, your CV naturally reflects the terms and skills expected for the role, which helps. No service can guarantee getting through an ATS: it depends on each company and each tool.

What is the Role2Match Index and how does it work?

The Role2Match Index is a score out of 100 that estimates how well your profile fits a given job offer. It is computed on 10 weighted criteria (skills, experience, role fit, goals, location, salary, industry, culture, perks, red flags), each with a short explanation. It helps you prioritise the offers worth applying to and spot what to strengthen in your application. It is an indicator, not a hiring decision.

    Features and everyday use

How does Role2Match help me write a cover letter?

Role2Match Writer uses generative AI to draft a cover letter from the job offer and your profile, instead of a generic template. It picks the arguments to put forward, adapts the tone to the company and reflects the key points of the offer. You get a personalised first draft that you can review, edit and finalise.

    Will my CV stay authentic?

Yes. Role2Match starts from your existing content and suggests rewording and emphasis adapted to the offer. The result is still your CV, with your real experience, structured and phrased to be more relevant for a given role. You approve, edit or discard every suggestion.

    Does Role2Match replace human work?

No. Role2Match is an assistant: it automates repetitive tasks (reading an offer, spotting what matters, suggesting rewording) and saves you time. The final decision, your personal tone and the authenticity of your application remain yours.

Can I edit what Role2Match generates?

Always. Suggestions are proposals: you can review, accept, change or discard them. You keep the last word on your CV and cover letter.

Does Role2Match apply to jobs on my behalf?

No. Role2Match prepares the documents and helps you decide. You stay in charge of reviewing, sending and following up each application.

    Jobs, countries and pricing

Does Role2Match find job offers for me?

Yes. Based on your criteria (target roles, locations, preferences), Role2Match collects offers every day from several job sources and company career pages, then computes the Role2Match Index for each one. The best matches appear in your dashboard and you can be alerted when an offer passes your threshold. You can also score any offer by pasting its URL or description.

    Which countries does Role2Match cover?

France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Ireland. The interface is available in French, English and German, and CVs and cover letters are written in the language of the job offer.

    How much does Role2Match cost?

The Free plan gives you 50 credits valid for 30 days, no credit card required (about 3 complete applications). Starter costs €9 per month for 600 credits and Pro €19 per month for 1,500 credits, with 20% off on yearly billing. Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time.

    What do credits pay for?

Credits are used by actions that require computing or AI: job scoring, CV extraction, rewriting, cover letters and PDF export.

    Is Role2Match also for recruiters?

Yes. The recruiter workspace lets you describe a hiring need as a mission and find relevant candidate profiles with the same matching engine. See Role2Match for recruiters.

    Trust, data and limits

Are my CV and data used to train AI models?

No. Your data is only used to provide the features you request in the app and is processed according to our privacy policy.

How does Role2Match protect my personal data?

Role2Match processes your information to provide the service (job analysis, CV and cover letter generation) and does not sell it to third parties. The service is published by NEXPERIO SAS, a French company, and personal data is processed under the GDPR. See our privacy policy for details on collection, retention and your rights.

Does Role2Match work for every industry and experience level?

Role2Match analyses an offer and a profile based on their content, whatever the industry or seniority. Relevance mainly depends on how precise your profile and the job offer are.

Does Role2Match guarantee I will get a job?

No, and nobody can honestly claim that. Role2Match helps you save time and send better targeted applications, but the outcome depends on many factors: your profile, the market, the company and the interview.
